DYSF Jim Beam Surftag 2009/10

Over the last few years DYSF has been a proven competitor in the Jim Beam Surftag.  The 2008/09 series saw DY come third against North Narrabeen and Werri.

This year we put in another great effort and finished in the top ten!

The finals were held at Northy, the conditions wern't exactly what you would call 'firing' as it was King tide, but it was still clean and surfable.

Throughout the series strong performances from all the boys provided DY the opportunity to move through each round.toby martin-surftag 2009/10

The ever hungry competitor Toby Martin used his 15 years of international experience to push the boys to achieve greater levels.  His first heat didn't go without controversy as a bit of hassling in the water caused a paddling interfernce against the other surfer.  Despite this minor conlflict, to his credit Toby took a really late drop to catch a great left and shreaded it all the way to the beach. Toby emerged from the close out covered in sand fists pumping, signally to the DY crew. The crowd went wild!

Issac was right at home getting several long rides linking manouver after manouver, his trademark cutbacks combined with plenty of reo's returned high high scores.

Danny Sheather surfed the rights to pick up some great waves and scored accordingly.
Dean White also made a great contribution to team scoring good rides and Jake Macca surfed really well under considerable pressure.  Good onya Macca!

DYSF SupportersThe DYSF support crew won many awards for being the most vocal of all clubs, adding that extra bit of atmosphere. Although the photo's don't do justice to the amount of supporters we have. DYSF and the Surftag crew really appreciate your efforts.

DYSF would also like to thank DYRSL for their continued support, as part of the sponsorship money pays for the Surftag entry fee.

Looking forward to the 2010/11 season.
